Research interests: rhetoric, composition pedagogy, literacy practices, and pop culture

Teaching goals/philosophy: My goal is to bridge the gap between “home” literacy practices and academic literacy practices through pop culture in productive ways to help both teachers and students in college composition courses.  I believe that popular culture and composition pedagogy can inform each other in useful ways to help students engage in and understand the importance of rhetoric and composition in their academic, personal, and professional endeavors.
